A little rain on your wedding day can't hurt when you're getting married out at a beautiful venue like The Dragonfly at Sleepycreek! Although we all had high hopes for clear skies, the forecast predicted 100% through the entire day! It's a potential recipe for disaster in some cases, but Breanna handled it like a champ with an "it is what it is" attitude, embracing all the good luck charms that a rainy wedding day is supposed to bring you! With a little rearranging, the hall
"It's like one two three, just as easy as can be.
Just the way you look at me, you make me smile.
Ain't no need to complicate it, we both know that's overrated.
We've been there. It's safe to say it ain't our style.
It's just that S I M P L E. Simple as can be."

You have to go look up this song while you look at these photos! The words are perfect for the inspiration behind doing this shoot. (And I don't even listen to country!) I especial
A day worth celebrating, August 18th, Rob & Halley became husband and wife!
An adventure from start to finish! It's funny how many places come up that I've never been, even in my own hometown. This was my first visit to Second Church of Christ. It was super nice being able to just jog from one end of the building to the other to visit the guys getting ready and the gals doing hair and makeup at the other end!
We found some beautiful pockets of light throughout the day, wh
June Twenty-Third. A beautiful day for a wedding out at Hudson Farm in Champaign, Illinois. But seriously, when is it not a beautiful day for a wedding out there? I love this venue!
Working with Caleb and Paige was such a breeze from start to finish. Paige (and her awesome mom!) were very organized and on top of everything through the planning, and the wedding day was refreshingly relaxed! I was very excited to see their beautiful pale blue, navy and champagne color palett
It all started for me with a sweet message in my Instagram inbox. Rebecca, a lovely florist who I shared two brides with during the 2017 wedding season, asked if I would be interested in participating in a styled shoot she had been brainstorming about. Was I ever! We exchanged numbers and the rest is text history! We found other local vendors who were also interested in this fun endeavor and the day after Valentine's Day, everything came together. And GOSH, was it beautifu
I have had some kind of sinus thing for what feels like forever and it's really starting to get on my nerves! All my kids have had it, including the baby (insert completely broken heart here) but they all seem to be on the mend. It is just liiiingering for me. Today's awesome symptom? Migraine. I'm like, seriously? I have pretty things that I want to work on!! Fiiiinally I am feeling a bit better this evening. YAY blog post!
Whine over. Moving on...
I got on top of my editing pile (a rare and much welcome occurrence!) and then thinking I had nothing work-related to do (besides answer emails, post to social media, send out invoices, okay...well, the editing was caught up!!!) I'd been taking it easy with the kiddos. Totally forgetting I had started this blog thing! Whoops. Here we go...
It has been a good while since the Herzogs and I have worked together! Their youngest little man here (who is not so little now!) was ju
I first met Tyler and Haley over wedding chat and coffee at Mad Goat! They're getting married in the spring next year and they decided to include me in their big day to capture it. I am super excited about it. Fast forward to their engagement session this past week at Homer Lake, and I. cannot. wait!!! for next spring to roll around so I can work with them again. Haley is going to make the most beautiful serene bride, and Tyler's smile is totally infectious. They are impos
You know what they say about April showers, huh? And here we are a week later and the rain is just now letting up.
Nobody let the rain put a damper on this gorgeous day at Crazyman's Hideaway though. Holly was seriously the most chill bride I've ever seen about it, and then by the time everyone was ready to go out and take some photos, it let up to a drizzle and then nothing for most of the day! I know that was a "yes" answer to many prayers!
I loved getting to work with
